Hummingbird Depth Finders family
First started in a tiny like facility by a few local investors, operations where cast off by modifying Heath Kits to assemble the first
Hummingbird Fish Finders and were at the start Humminbird Depth Sounders which were to form into the article now regularly known as the Hummingbird Fish Finders.
The mother company Techsonic Industries Inc, began in 1971 in Eufaula Alabama and was known as Fulton Industries.
By 1975 the firm was braced to introduce the first ever waterproof depth sounders and the Super Sixty was enthusiastically embraced by every serious angler in the world and went on to become one the fastest selling all round fish finders ever produced.
1977 saw Fulton Industries blasting constantly toward being number one in the Marine Electronics Industry and with the introduction of new dominance, adjusted to the new name of Techsonic Industries, Inc.
The LCR series was manufacturedd in 1984 and was the forerunner to the liquid crystal display models sold today and by 1987 after adopting the brand name of Humminbird, the first products to become known as Humminbird Fish Finders was released as the LCR4ID which became the largest selling fish finder ever produced for both the professional and sports alike.
Through the 1990′s, the name Humminbird Fish Finders were on every angler’s lips through the US and countries such as Canada, England, Australia and New Zealand, and the reputation quickly spread all through the rest of world with the breakthrough of new ideas and innovations, including the cutting edge technology of the first 3D sonar model, the Dimension 3/120 Hummingbird fish finders.
Teleflex Incorporated of Pennsylvania, after seeing the sudden rise and success of the Techsonic Company, knotted resources with them to bring about the Humminbird Wide Series which shortly after became the most extraordinary products in Techsonic’s history and it was in the same year that Techsonic became labeled as a Teleflex company.
The new century brought yet more cutting edge innovative ideas which have become synonymous with the name of Hummingbird Fish Finders and in 2002 released the Piranha Series of entry level Humminbird fish finders.
Wireless technology introduced as “Smart Cast” in 2003 provided options to all anglers and became particularly popular with those fishing from beaches, river banks, piers and smaller boats and were an instant hit with kayak anglers as a result of their size, durability and portability and the additional feature of being completely sealed made them an ideal choice when choosing from the range known as the Johnson Outdoors, known for it’s grade a range of outdoors and sporting products, acquired Techsonic Industries in mid 2004 and became the ideal applaud to the name of Hummingbird Fish Finders and the Humminbird brand.
