In this excerpt from an interview that I did with Richard Legg, he revealed how to create an affiliate site that makes money, what WordPress plugins he uses, what kind of themes he likes to use and so on.

How To Create An Affiliate Site – Step By Step

I build a tightly-themed site using WordPress, using keyword-rich content, and then in a moment, I’ll probably go more in-depth into keyword research and how I do it.

Once I have my keyword research done and I have the affiliate offer chosen, I would put WordPress on a site that I have a domain I own.

There is the free version of WordPress, which is great – you can use it if you want to, but I always recommend doing something on your own domain, so you can install WordPress on your own site, because you have much more flexibility and you can use keyword-rich domain names, things like that.

How To Create An Affiliate Site – Content

So, I’d build a site, and I’d create some content.

Typically, I’d start off with around five to ten pieces of content.

So, maybe five articles around four hundred or five hundred words each, based around some of the keywords that I’ve chosen. That’s perfect for creating an affiliate site.

Again, I’ll go into that a little bit more in a minute. And then what I do first of all is just keep adding some content to that site, and then within that site, I would try to promote the affiliate offer.

Now, a good way to do this is at the end of posts. The content will be really useful – content that people are going to want to read – but also you can tie it into the product in some way, for example that you present the problem, and then the solution, it being the product.

And then direct people to click through your affiliate link and to that product.

So that’s basically the top-level overview of what I would do and how to create an affiliate site.

And again, I do this in many different markets and it’s a very similar system that I follow.
